Dr Lawrence Benner(Chiropractor) an American from Southern California received the Associate of Arts Degree by completing a pre-clinical two year university course at the College of the Redwoods that fulfilled the requirements for entry to a college of chiropractic, medicine, or dentistry. He enrolled on a further four year university course at the Palmer College of Chiropractic, Davenport, Iowa (the original and first chiropractic college in the World) and graduated as a Doctor of Chiropractic in 1979. He successfully passed the state board examinations to practice in the States of Colorado and Washington. Dr Benner is a chiropractor with an exceptional level of experience (over 30 years). He has been in practice in Swansea and West Wales including the Werndale Hospital in Bancyfelin and at the NHS facility in Pontardulais.

In the year 2000 Dr. Benner and his family relocated from West Wales to Herefordshire. He initially practiced as an Associate Chiropractor with Dr. Nigel Fullerton  (Chiropractor) at his Holcombe House Chiropractic Clinic, Gravel Hill, Ludlow from 2000 until 2002. Dr. Benner started his own independent practice at the Nuffield Hospital in Hereford. In 2009 Dr Benner decided he wanted to refresh his academic career by returning to a formal university course in education. He successfully completed the further education teaching diploma from the University of Warwick in 2011.

Part of his teacher training involved working with the complementary medicine department at the Royal National College of the Blind (RNC) in Hereford. Dr Benner integrates his teaching background with his chiropractic practice by involving his patients into improving their health by lifestyle changes, diet, and exercise. He also presents educational sessions to groups of health professionals interested in chiropractic and to the general public.  He does not charge expenses for being a guest speaker, however if a group wishes to make a donation then he asks that any donations are given to  the charity 'Help for Heroes'.

Chiropractic is the method of natural healing most chosen by those seeking complementary/alternative health care for acute and chronic conditions. While you may first visit a chiropractor to relieve pain in the lower back or to treat sciatica, neck pain, whiplash or headache, you will find that a chiropractor views you as a whole person and not the sum of your parts. A chiropractor will work in partnership with you to ensure your optimal health and wellness.
Chiropractors recognize that many factors affect your health, including exercise, nutrition, sleep, environment and heredity. Chiropractic focuses on maintaining your health naturally to help your body resist disease, rather than simply treating the symptoms of disease.
Starts with a thorough evaluation. When you visit a Doctor of Chiropractic, you will be evaluated using time-honored methods, including consultation, case history, physical examination, and if necessary referral for laboratory analysis and X-ray examination. In addition, you will receive a careful chiropractic structural examination, with particular attention paid to the spine. Involves no drugs or surgery. A broad range of techniques are used to locate, analyze and gently correct vertebral misalignments/subluxations (facet joint strains) in the spine. Chiropractors primarily use manual adjustment which is a gentle form of spinal manipulation; in addition Trigger Point Therapy which is a type of deep tissue massage directed at reducing painful muscle spasms. But they never use pharmaceutical drugs or invasive surgery.
Chiropractic is a natural method of healing that stimulates the body's communication system to work more effectively to initiate, control and coordinate the various functions of the cells, organs and systems of the body. Partners with other healthcare professionals, Doctors of Chiropractic work in tandem with other healthcare professionals. If your condition requires attention from another branch of the healthcare profession, that recommendation or referral will be made.
