Doctors of Chiropractic Worldwide

It is of utmost importance to recognize that our practitioners are not medical doctors, do not possess medical degrees, and are not affiliated with the General Medical Council. Instead, they are registered with the General Chiropractic Council. In the United Kingdom, the use of the 'Dr' title by Chiropractors, Dentists, or Veterinarians is considered a 'Courtesy Title.'

I graduated from the Palmer College of Chiropractic, Davenport, Iowa and my degree is called: Doctor of Chiropractic. I do not use medical procedures or treatments; I conduct chiropractic consultations, examinations and treatments. The first chiropractic college in the world the Palmer College of Chiropractic which opened in 1898, the graduates became known as Doctors of Chiropractic. There are approximately 100,000 duly qualified doctors of chiropractic/chiropractors in the World Federation of Chiropractic’s 88 member countries. The majority of Chiropractic Colleges and Universities are degree granting institutions which are regulated and accredited by governmental agencies.  The practice of chiropractic is recognised and regulated in the USA, Canada, Australia, United Kingdom,  and New Zealand and other countries in Central and South America, Europe and Asia. Approximate 2015 numbers are: 65,000 USA 8,300 Canada 4,845 Australia 3,013 UK 800 Brazil, France, Japan, Sweden 750 Norway 700 Denmark 600 South Africa 500-100 Belgium, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Mexico, The Netherlands, New Zealand, South Korea, Spain, and Switzerland 100-50 Argentina, Chile, Finland, Germany, Hong Kong SAR China, Iran, Singapore Under 50 Other countries.
